The NFPA 25 standard requires the maintenance of fire suppression systems in good working order along with inspection, testing and maintenance records. Inspections will be performed on an annual basis.
Examples of work performed during an inspection include:
-
- Inspect exterior of hydrant for damage or missing caps.
- Verify proper functioning.
- Flow each hydrant to insure all debris/foreign material is clear.
- Observe proper drainage from the barrel.
- Lubricate stem, caps, plugs and threads.
- Inspect for accessibility.
